Tahini Halva is also one of the few sesame products for which there is a brief history of its preparation and production. In the following, we will briefly introduce Tahini Halva and then discuss the history of this sesame product.<\/p>\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>What is Tahini Halva?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tahini Halva is one of the products obtained from sesame. This sesame product is obtained by mixing Tahini (ground sesame seeds) with molasses cooked from sweetening ingredients along with some other ingredients such as cardamom, vanilla and some edible nuts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sesame halva, soft halva, sugar-free halva, halva with natural molasses, and flavored halva are examples of types of halva.<\/p>\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>History of tahini Halva Production<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The history of the halva-making industry in Iran dates back to the Safavid era and the reign of Shah Abbas Safavi. During the reign of Shah Abbas Safavi, which coincided with the ministry of Sheikh Bahai, a war broke out in the winter and the Shah ordered his advisor to prepare food for the soldiers that had three characteristics: first, it was easy to transport, second, it had nutrients for the body, and third, it provided the necessary energy with the amount of bread that the soldiers had with them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sheikh Bahai, in consultation with a person named Jaber Assar, a sesame expert, and Shah Shirin Kar, a grape molasses expert, prepared a product that was 50 percent ground sesame seeds (Tahini) and the other 50 percent raisin, grape, and date molasses. The resulting product was used by the soldiers of that time and eventually became their favorite. In this way, tahini Halva gradually became known and its consumption became popular among different segments of society. After that, many producers in different cities, including Yazd, Ardakan, Qom and Kerman, started producing this sesame product.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1312 solar year, a person named Hajj Mosayeb Derakhshani, who had previously been engaged in producing halva in Baku, Azerbaijan, replaced sugar and some glucose with natural syrups in Iran, resulting in sugary Tahini Halva, and the production of this sesame product gradually expanded and became widely used.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today, the use of Tahini Halva is also increasing as a choice for a quick breakfast and a healthy and nutritious snack.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Oghab Halva Factory was founded about 80 years ago by the late Seyyed Jalil Naseri and to this day, focusing on preserving taste and quality as well as achieving international standards, it has tried to produce sesame products that suit the tastes and lifestyles of the community.
